(The Chinese Aging Well Profile ),探討提升失智長者的幸福感下,對照顧者幸福感會帶來的影響。

healing power of the body from the perspective of dance therapy - from the  experience of working with the elderly with dementia

The global population with dementia is increasing year by year. At the end of  2019, the number of dementia population in Taiwan has reached 290,000, which  becomes a severe social issue. The pressure of caring for the patients and  themselves of the caregiver has also become the focus of mental health.

Aristotle believes that the pursuit of happiness is the nature of human beings,  and many clinical psychologists have also confirmed that happiness mutually  contagious. Therefore, well-being of caregivers is the focus of this research.  Well-being refers to an individual’s subjective experience and feelings, including  an emotional and cognitive structure, to evaluate one's own life. At present, most  of the relevant research focuses on the effectiveness of improving the happiness of  the elderly with dementia, and less attention is paid to their caregivers.

Dance/Movement Therapy connects body and mind through movements to  achieve a state of integration of body, mind and social functions. At the same time,  patients can communicate and get along with each other to transfer energy and  happiness. This is a part of the development of non-drug therapy in recent years.

This study will use the above theories and case studies to collect the Chinese  Aging Well Profile for the caregivers who participated in the dance prescription for  20 times, and explore how to improve the happiness of the elderly with dementia.  The happiness of the caregiver will have a positive impact.
